About the film
Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things, The Favourite), Bugonia is a sharp and darkly comic reimagining of the South Korean cult film Save the Green Planet!. Blending satire, sci-fi, and psychological drama, the story follows two conspiracy-obsessed men who kidnap a powerful businesswoman, convinced she is an alien sent to destroy Earth.
With Lanthimos’ signature surreal style, the film explores paranoia, power, and the absurdities of modern society in a provocative and visually striking way.
